Up, up and away! Finally we are Rome bound. Airplane travel has not improved much from last trip (Wednesday for Chad) but we are travelling as Super Elite thanks to Chad's work paying for an entire year's salary for a couple of pilots for Air Canada -
Chad has officially become an air travel snob, and the time he spends in airports is spent in hushed comfort, behind glass doors, well away from the hoi polloi. From my standpoint, it is a far cry from my early days of travel, searching the airports for that elusive "cheap ......... anything" and that even more elusive comfy airport waiting chair. Here, in the lounge, we sit in climate controlled comfort, with comfy chairs, free Internet, free food and drinks, and even shower rooms that would put most home showers to shame.
The photos are of the view from our first class window at sunset, which we observed while enjoying our hot dinner of roasted chicken with stuffing, mashed purple skinned potatoes, veggies, salad and warm cheese bread paired with a fine Malbec wine from Argentina. For dessert, a chocolate covered chocolate cake and hot tea.
The picture here is of random Toronto airport art - a water tank filled with clear boxes being pushed around by a current. Next stop - Zurich, Switzerland.
